Le puse abono y la saqué al sol. I put fertilizer on it and I set it out in the sun.
le: objeto indirecto del verbo puse. Aquí quiere decir 'on it' y se refiere a la planta.
abono: objeto directo del verbo puse.
la: objeto directo del verbo saqué. Aquí se refiere al nombre, la planta.
(Hay un pequeño error en el texto: a el sol --> el sol)
Me explico?
Gracias por enseñarnos la expresión cara dura. Sí la había oído antes pero no la entendí bien. Entonces, quiere decir, más o menos, sinvergüenza, verdad? El diálogo nos da el contexto perfecto para recordarla:-)
También me alegra ver el verbo marchitar en un contexto tan concreto y no sólo metafórico. (Como, por ejemplo, en la canción de Selena, Como la flor con tanto amor, me diste tú se marchitó.) Es ridículo, lo sé, pero me acuerdo de la palabra también en la letra de una canción de Los Bukis:
¡Pues que cosa rara es la memoria!

I learn best with examples so maybe this will help you too. Indirect object pronouns are:
me (to me)
te (to you fam.)
le (to him,her, you, it)
nos (to us)
os (to you fam.)
les (to them, you)
Examples with le:
Yo le hablo en español a ud. I speak Spanish to you.
Or
Yo le hablo en español. I speak Spanish to you. (the le in this sentence referes to “to you” -a usted)
Or
Elena le escribe una carta a su amiga. Elena writes a card to her friend.
Or
Elena le escribe una carta. (the le in this sentence referes to her friend-“su amiga”)
Direct object pronouns are:
Me (me)
Te (you fam)
Lo (him, you, it)
La (her, you,it)
Nos (us)
Os (you fam)
Los (them, you)
Las (them, you)
Le is also used in Spain.
Examples of la/lo
Yo abro la puerta. I open the door.
Or
La abro. (I open it) la refers to the door.
Juan toma un café. John drinks coffee.
Or
Lo toma sin azúcar. He drinks it without sugar. (the coffee is understood)
Another one is :
Ellos me conocen. They know me.

me gusta mucho como explicaste los objectos directos y indirectos! yo solo pienso que a veces necesitamos ver o oir la información muchas veces antes de que podamos aprenderla. recuerdo bien cuando yo aprendía las difierencias…para mí, no era fácil!
