Remember Me
Lesson Introduction

SpanishPod users are warm, friendly people, and when you see someone new moving in on your block, I'm sure you all send the welcome committee with flowers, pies, casseroles... Today's dialogue is about a couple of lazy people who are too lazy to get up and introduce themselves to a new neighbor they see coming down the street. How anti-social!

The verb conocer, when used in the present tense, means to know or to meet someone. Here's the question: ¿Conoces a algún famoso? Yo, por ejemplo, conozco personalmente a la famosísima Jenny Zhu de ChinesePod.

Sometimes neighbors can be annoying. A veces los vecinos pueden ser unos toca-pelotas. I used to have one living upstairs who used to play drums...I used to hate him!!!Lo solía odiar!!!So one day, I went to his door, and in a very polite way I ask to stop that unbearable noise. And do you know what was his answer? He told me he heard the noise of my shower!!! I answered: and what! ¡Y qué!I think is pretty normal to have a shower at home but quite idiot to have drums!!!¡¡¡Es muy normal tener una ducha en casa pero bastante idiota tener una batería!!!jajajaja Thanks God, they moved.

No conozco a nadie famoso, pero "I have met" (?) algunas personas famosas, como Billy Bragg, Garrison Keillor, Gloria Steinem, Jesse "The Body" Ventura, y Anne Lammot. Extrano, si?

superbigmuc11, "I have met" it's "he conocido" (present perfect of the verb conocer).

Hola ! En los ejercicios hay que poner la traducion de "you know" y la respuesta en el ejercicio es "conocer", pero ¿no seria "to know" ? Porque "you know" seria "conoces". Hay a veces formas gramaticales en el mp3 Lesson Review (por otras lecciones) que no son formas del infinitivo que son traducidas por el infinitivo en español y me parece extraño, porque no es la traducion exacta. ¿Hay una razon a eso ? Gracias , buen dia :-)
