Which are your favorite TV series?

Uyyy a mi me gustan muchas! Veo la de Glee, Breaking Bad, How I met your mother! Me encanta Barney! Me fascina su actuación y los diálogos! Ahora empiezo a ver Spatacus una serie de Nueva Zelanda, es una serie muy fuerte con mucha violenta ,sangre y sexo. No apta para menores pero si para adultos jajaja.

Ufff I like a lot of them. I watch Glee, Breaking Bad, How I met your mother. I love Barney. Really like how he acts and the dialogue. I am starting to watch Spartacus a series from New Zeland. It's a bit harsh with a lot of violence, blood and sex. Not suitable for minors totally suitable for adults! haha hahaha

The Wire, Deadwood, Rome, Big Love

Big Love is about a guy in Utah who is a Polygamist. He has 3 wives who are all completely different and kids with all of them. He has to maintain everything in secret as Polygamy isn't legal in the States.

The street slang in Baltimore (where The Wire is based) is so difficult that they even had interpretors on the set for the actors who spoke English!! I was explaining that to a Mexican friend, telling him how much would be lost if he was going to watch it in Spanish. Some things are really hard to translate with the same feeling.

A mi ME ENCANTA Mujeres Desesperadas !!! La veo en español asi practico diviertiendome :-) Es una serie bien graciosa y dramatica a la vez y pues las tramas son buenas, siempre me sorprenden. La recomiendo !

Me encanta la ropa y el escenario (?) de "La Familia Peluche"! Pero el dialogo me pasa demasiado rapido! (podria decir 'me pasa volando?')

No soy de mucha televisión como dice en el diálogo.  Prefiero estar haciendo algo afuera.  De niño, había de haber sufrido sobredosis de tele.  Es que la veía muchisima.  Sin embargo, a veces veo un episódio viejo de Entourage.  Me da mucha risa.  Una pregunta acerca del uso de no ser de...Al principio de la platica entre Lili y Jenni, Lili dice algo como eres de ver...Así que, se puede usar esa frase como negativo o positivo, ¿verdad?     

En vez de:

Pasan mi serie favorita

¿También  puedes decir?

Dieron mi serie favorita

Presentaron me serie favorita

In the expansion, you have two examples using "acabar de + the infinitive". The one that confuses me is: acabaste de leer el libro?

I thought that this construction already implied the past, and therefore I wouldn't have conjugated acabar into the preterit. Doesn't "acabo de leer..." mean "I just read..."? I don't need to say "acabé de leer", right?

I'm probably confused, since no one else asked this!

There's a couple of different things going on here with "acabar de".

If I say to you...

¿Acabas de leer el libro?   This means did you just read the book?

But if I say to you...

¿Acabaste de leer el libro?  This means did you finish reading the book?

See how the meaning changes?  Just like in English.

You can use the preterit of acabar when asking someone if they’ve finished something too, like maybe someone is doing a job and it looks like they’ve finished...¿ya acabaste?

¿Conoces la novela de Arturo Pérez-Riverte, La Reina del Sur, verdad? Pues muy pronto la historia va a salir de telenovela en Telemundo. Kate del Castillo tiene el papel de protagonista, Teresa Mendoza; Rafael Amaya quien es 'el cazador' en la emisión actual, Alguien te mira, será 'el güero'.

A propósito, lo bueno de Telemundo es que muchas de sus novelas son disponibles en internet así que puedes verlas aun sin tener aceso al canal en la tele.

Alguien Te Mira es una de las mejores que he visto.    Muy fuerte con un elenco impresionante.  La Reina del Sur se ve potente también,  estoy ansioso por verla.   Aurora empezó fuerte pero rápidamente se convirtió en una porquería como la mayoría, ¿verdad?. 

Me pregunto ¿qué le pasó a la que venía, Ojo por Ojo?  Se veía fuerte también.  Estaba por venir cuando de la nada desapareció.

Totalmente de acuerdo contigo sobre 'Alguien te Mira' -- y cada día se vuelve aun más escalofriante.

No he había dado cuenta de eso pero es así -- después de unos cuantos anuncios, desapareció 'Ojo por Ojo' como si nada.  ¡Qué raro!  ¿Qué habrá pasado? 

Y 'Aurora'!  Ay, ni la menciones -- un desperdicio de un elenco que merece algo mejor.  Sí, 'porquería' es la palabra adecuada.

Check out the caraycaray.blogspot.com here for discussions of La Reina del Sur which premieres Monday evening on Telemundo.  Even though the blog is in English, watching the show with a like-minded group helps me keep my Spanish current.  (Although it's no Spanishpod.  Alas!)

¿Alguien puede recomendar unos series en español que no son telenovelas? Yo prefiero la comedia.

Mis favoritos series americanos son South Park, It's Always Sunny, y 30 Rock.  Si podría decirme sobre algo similar en español, le agradecería.
