Remember Me
Lesson Introduction

Today's video podcast is the second part of our two-part review of subject pronouns. This lesson, a work in three acts, will go over some important, and perhaps surprising, aspects of subject pronouns for aspiring learners. Act I: You Can Drop Them Sometimes. Act II: The Two Genders. Act III: No Subject "It."

la llave is a physical key, used for doors

la clave is a noun or adjective that refers to imaginary things such as problems

So "the key word" is "el problema clave"

I believe "la clave" by itself could mean a code

llave is also the "key" you use to  take your car apart.

llave = wrench

Great job guys.  In all the years that  I have study Spanish, I have never heard of the concept “not necessarily feminism”  I think that it is an excellent concept.

I love this show, too, JP! I think we have the not necessarily masculine in English, as well sometimes, in "girls" and "guys" (generally speaking)

What are you girls up to? (Just Women)

What are you guys up to (Any group, not necessarily guys or girls)

You guys always make me think.

Macanudo!

Fun and a didactical firework - you really do make perfekt use of video to bring your points!

What a delightful difference to just having vocab lists with some moving pictures that add no didactic impact and are not self-explanatory without an additional pdf...

I wish SpanishPod could set the gold standard for teaching videos throughout Praxis Language !

Wow, thanks so much, everyone, for all your kind words and enthusiasm, on behalf of the SpanishPod team.  I do hope you'll feel comfortable recommending SpanishPod to your friends!

As far as content is concerned, we're writing La clave with students in mind, so that each episode will roughly review what's been going on in the standard Spanish 101 classroom.  Since 100-level Spanish courses are very grammar-centric, we felt that the entire community would benefit from these lessons, even those of us who are not currently students.

The ideas for these shows come largely from my experience as a classroom teacher.  If some of the content is too basic for some of you, I hope at least the presentation will make you chuckle.

For those of you requesting the subjunctive, we'll get around to it!  We have a lot of groundwork to lay before we get to the subjunctive, so stay tuned.

¡Estupendo, muy bien hecho!

I was about to ask for a low-quality version (because my little iBook is too slow for the full version) but then I realized that I already can CTRL-click on a Mac (right-click on Windows) the video to switch to a low-quality version! Nice! :)

JP, you're an excepcional teacher.  You have a way of teaching and communicating an idea that really gets through.

I know, I know we all sound like broken records, but this place está bien chingón guey!

From the production and sound effects fading in and out of the lessons, now the videos, the writing, the acting (better all the time) and of course the lesson breakdowns and the great interviews.
