Queridos usuarios, ¿les gusta comer comida basura? ¿O prefieren cuidarse y comer comida saludable?

Lo que es mas importante sobre esta lección es la usa de la palabra “dejar”.  Pienso que tengamos que aprender esta palabra “Chunk Style” porque la palabra tiene demasiados sentidos.  (Lilly and JP are always talking about learning some things “Chunk Style” and not to focus too mucho on the individual words.  To me, Dejar, has so many meaning that it fits this model.  Just when I think I understand how to use this word, someone will use it in a strange way and I’ll be in a quandary for days trying to figure out what they meant.

El diccionario dice que el infinitivo quiere dicer “to leave”, pero la primero vez que vi una señal que dice “Deje de Fumar” estaba confundido hasta que una persona me explicó que “Dejar de” significa “STOP”.

Al contrario “Deja en” tiene otro sentido completamente diferente, como “dejé a los niños en el colegio”  (I left or dropped the kids at school)

¿Es posible que se puede decir - Para de comer - también?  No es corecto uso de la palabra -parar-, ¿o es sólo usado con menos frecuencia?

Puedes usar "para de comer", solo que es mas frecuente y correcto decir "deja de comer" que quiere decir "stop eating".

Tienes mucha razón, el verbo "dejar" tiene muchos usos. Puede ser stop, drop off, give up, careless or leave depende mucho del contexto.

En la lección, oigamos de las comida chatarra. Pero encimo de aquí, Esti dice "la comida basura." which means garbage. Is she saying the Spanish thing? I just want to communicate well with Mexican and other Latin American Spanish speakers. Is catarra the better choice for me? Basura is nicely dramatic and yucky, but I just want to know which word to favor. Grácias.

Según Wordreference, se dicen "comida chatarra" en México y "comida basura" en España.

Hope someone can help me with this:

I am confused as to when I should put the "me" in the end, or "me" in the front?

Example: "Me da un botella de agua", but in this lession, "Dame eso" was used.

Usually the pronouns come before conjugated verbs, for example “¿te molesta?.  “does it bothers you?” One exception to this rule is affirmative commands.  With affirmative commands the pronouns are attached to the end of the verb, for example cómelo – eat it.  Note the accent over the “o” which is there because in the word “come” the “o” is stressed.

"Dame eso" is an affirmative command.

"¿Me da un botella de agua?" is used as a command but grammatical it is not a command.  It can actual be translated as “you give me a bottle of water?”  and is used because it sounds less demanding the actual command which is “dame un botella de agua”

Me gusta comer comida saludable pero a veces, me cuesta mucho. Casi nunca como hamburguesas o papas fritas pero me encanta comida Mexicana como tacos, tortillas y guacamole.
