That's great news regarding the De Pelicula.  The real conversations are always the best.  Y puro espanol.

The DTAT where you 3 were talking about Christmas was great by the way.

A suggestion for any of the users who want to improve their spoken Spanish:  use these types of shows (conversations and interviews) for study material, practice repeating over the dialogues in small bits until you can repeat large chunks.  Try to get to the point where you can listen and repeat at the same time that you are hearing the conversation in real time without pausing.

This type of intense excercise will carry over into your conversations with Spanish speakers with natural sounding speach and intonation.

I use a ton of native material every day.  The live conversations that you can find here in the Del Taco Al Tangos is some of the best material you can find, if you put the work in, the reward is well worth it.

Some that come to mind...

The Halloween one with Heidi
Peru with Kata
Both Argentina ones with Pepa and Margarit (I think)
Tequila with Leo and Esti
Colombia with Soraya
Venezuela with (I can't remember her name)
The toys (with Marco, Esti, and Leo)
Panama
Little Cuba (Miami Spanglish)
The Spanish Reporter (with Esti and Sigor)

Lili, you should be really proud of DTAT, some amazing content.

Looking forward to the same kind of stuff with the new De Pelicula.

Terrific comment, Hypersport! You are so right about the benefits of active, rather than passive, practice.  By listening, we learn to listen; by speaking, we learn to speak.

And you are so right about DTAT -- it absolutely stands out in the field of learning material.  Lili makes us feel as if we are  part of a real conversation -- cool, funny people talking about interesting stuff. What is especially great about it is that Lili is there on our behalf, gently interrupting, asking for clarification, repetition, keeping us from getting carried away by  the rapid currents of the guest's speech.  Maybe we don't express our appreciation often enough because she makes it look so easy. (Hah!)

Let me add that the advanced lessons with Yenny are also a pleasure to lesson to; the conversation about the dialogue is often more fun than the dialogue itself.

Even so, I've noticed that the dialogues themselves have been really, really good at all levels.  They manage to be conversational, yet linguistically interesting with the appropriate level of complexity in each case.  And Yenny, you are a fabulous actress!  You have added so much to the mix here.

I'll be happy to see another episode of De Película and I'm also glad to hear it will be in Spanish.  We all have such different tastes in films and music and literature, that there's no way to satisfy every listener with your choice of subject.  But when you guys are enthusiastic about something and having fun, it's a pleasure to listen to you, no matter what the topic.

Good stuff Anna.  I just noticed that I spelled "speech" wrong above lol.  You wouldn't believe the amount mistakes that I make in English as a result of so much Spanish for 4 years.

anna8 & hypersport

I totally agree with your comments. All the shows that are 100% Spanish are a great way to learn. DTAT has been one of my favorite shows for a long time. Besides listening to the speaking shows like DTAT, I like to do a similar thing with music, where I try to sing along as well. The show Oye Como Va has become a favorite of mine as well.

I am looking forward to the new & improved De Pelicula in 100% Spanish! Thank you Lily & team for always looking for ways to make spanishpod better and for really making learning Spanish so fun and entertaining.

As a film fan I am very much looking forward to hearing a retooled "de pelicula" and im intrigued by the new interactive challenge element.

Although del taco al tango offers good listening practice its focus is primarily the latin speaking world, to which i have almost no access. Id much rather listen to spanish discussion of things i have in common with spanish speakers and i think that international film and music offer a great way to do that.

I really hope you can manage a fornightly release schedule.

BTW If you are going to attend Rio carnival you will need to be on your best behavior perhaps bahia is the best place for cultural sharing
