Do you know who Pedro Infante is?

i notice you are sticking with me le gusta

as i understand gustar...

Me le gusta canciones romanticas en espanol.
To me to it it is pleasing romantic songs in spanish

Notice the redundant pronoun le. i assure you that you dont need it.

the songs are pleasing to you.
As you are referring to more than one song you need to conjugate gustar accordingly i.e. "gustan" = they please

me gustan canciones romanticas en español
to me they are pleasing, romantic songs in spanish
or, I like romantic spanish songs

however in your next sentence...

me gusta cantar las canciones (you do not need the le. honest)

Although you still refer to more than one song, the thing that is doing the pleasing is the infinitive "cantar" and since there is only one of it you are right to conjugate gustar as gusta, it pleases.

it pleases me to sing

entonces canta en español

Hola donperigo.  ¿Me permites?

McKean's Law:  Any correction of the speech or writing of others will contain at least one grammatical, spelling, or typographical error.

por supesto y gracias por la gentileza. Siempre me gustan las correcciones pero...

yo tambien! me gusta cantar
I too! to me it is pleasing to sing

... is what i was going for and not.

to ME as well it is pleasing to sing
(i.e. "me too" as a separate shout. punctuation never was my strong point¿)

As i understand it the disjunctive bit is not obligatory, just usual.  thanks for the "de" though. I never did get the hang of when i can use the implicit "to" of the infinitive and when i need an extra preposition.

though of course to validate Mckeans law your post should contain at least one error so alls well that ends well :-)

check these lessons and discussions for some gustar guidence

she likes you

@anna8, I really like McKean's Law.  Story of my life... ;) I note that @martinillo didn't write much, maybe to minimize the chance of errors. Very good @martinillo!

As for the lession, no, don't know anything about Pedro Infante (but I also like a lot of songs by Maná {and if we can consider the Spanish as well, Pastora}). And Lili, I don't believe you that you've only gotten two serenades... ;)

http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1610682-1,00.html

I sort of knew who Pedro Infante was.  I had read that Pobre Los Nosotros was a good film on the internet.  I am sure that this article talked about Pedro Infante, but I don't remember more than this.  Here is an article about Pedro Infante from the magazine Time.

@anna8, at least one of us understands how to avoid flies, obviously I don't. ;)

@leoguerrero, good lord, it wasn't that bad, man, just don't start crying again... ;)

bonito23: Algunas correciones:

(You need the indirect object "te" even though you have the "a ti".)

gratica (simple rule: there are no spanish words with a double "m")

(you need this "a" if the object is a person; the verb after "quiere" is always in the infinitive; but I'm actually not quite sure what you are trying to say :)

Hey,

What happened to exercises 2 and 3?

Also, what happened to the last line of the dialogue?

donperigo,

Thanks for your link to amorcito corazon.Though it sounds like a  ballad,is it also a bolero? I think I can make out the base that JP was referring to in the background, but it's more subtle than in some of the other bolero's on youtube.

thinking more about this you were quite correct. even though i was going for "me too" thats not really a legitimate reply to a "me gusta" declaration. I need to say "to me too" although i suppose i could have been agreeing that one day i was going to sing with my guitar. yes ,ok ,as you were, we'll stick with that :-)

Bonito23

3rd time lucky (hopefully) i meant
¡siga escribir!

barbaradwan

youre welcome, id forgotten that i had posted that.
