haha, I just listened to this podcast online, and found an editing mistake!  :)

When we record these podcasts, we don't hear the background music or the transitions; that stuff is added in later, when I edit. 

So when we're recording the podcast and we're making a transition between two segments, someone on the team always makes a 'transition noise.'  Sometimes it's just me; on a good day, it's all of us. 

If you listen to this podcast closely, at 6:54 you can hear Leo making the transition noise.  Whoops!  I was supposed to edit it out!  

Well, now you all have a little glimpse of our glamourous recording habits....

I was wondering what that was all about (as well as why noone was laughing and saying "What the heck was that all about, Leo?"

I can't wait to go back and hear the "transition noise." 

You asked for some other uses of quedar. How 'bout these? 

Quedarse =

to end up. Ella se quedó embarazada.

to keep. Tengo hambre. Voy a quedarme con el sandwich de Esti.

to run out of something. Nos hemos quedado sin dinero. 

Quedar

to make a good/bad impression. Quiero quedar bien con mis futuros suegros. (Quedar mal - Lili y Leo hablaron de este uso de quedar en el podcast como "to loose face.") 

to be located. Mi casa queda a 20 millas de la ciudad. 

to be left. Quedan 5 días para la navidad. Nos queda un montón de trabajo por hacer. 

to make a fool of oneself. Quedé en ridículo anoche en la fiesta. 

Quedar y quedarse son muy útiles, muchos buenos ejemplos docmolly.

Tengo un amigo que siempre compra y vende autos, y siempre cuando esté listo de vender uno que sí es bueno, le digo...oye, quedate con él por una vez güey.

Otro uso es cuando decimos turn out en inglés cuando hablamos acerca de un proyecto, o algo que estamos haciendo.

I hope it turns out nice.  Ojala quede bien.
