Thanks Lili, Hi Sarah, and Chef Tabasco,

Note they did restore the PM mail icon to the header, at least for us OLD timers.  If you click on it you will get the option of downloading or having all the stored messages sent to you via email.  Works great, thanks guys.

Hey Chef Tabasco! Word has it you are studying Chinese really hard. When are you going to show us how to make some of those picante Szechaun dishes? (en español por supuesto)  como Pollo Kung Pao 宫保鸡丁
o  cerdo dos veces cocinado 回锅肉

(and Esti, amiga, ¡¡ nos prometiste algunas recetes de españa propia!!!)

Hey DP, Sarah, is from Salsbury too, at least that is what Marco said.

A question concerning the October promotion: When will you return to your schedule of publishing 5 new lessons (from Newbie-Advanced) per week?

When I did my last Praxis subscription I got this, plus the extra shows on top. I also got this for FrenchPod and ItalianPod.

Now why would I be interested in frozen content of FrenchPod & ItalianPod? For the same price as 5 new lessons per week as was the case until end of 2008?

My very disappointing experience was that Praxis language does cuts at any point of time to any extent: going from 5 to 3 lessons per week (current SpanishPod status) reducing further to 1 lesson per week (FrenchPod&ItalianPod status from end of May 2009) to zero (just not shutting down the old content on the server and have staff answer new questions should any drop in - current FP&IP status).

Your are entitled to do so according to the subscription contracts you offer.

As I deem this too lopsided for my taste: how do you reassure potential customers that they get what they expect (even if it is not granted in a legally binding way)?

E.g. if you decrease the publishing schedule the duration of the subscription gets prolonged proportionally? I understand that you would struggle to give real money back, but some compensation in kind would only be fair?

What about a clear strategy statement, e.g. that the 3 most essential languages of the world - English, Chinese, Spanish - will always be served as a minimum by 3 new lessons a week?

The bough that does not bend, may break, and the nest be lost.  I think this is weathering, not withering, sequestering and meting out with care that this place might bud and bloom come spring.

We do believe that spring will come, no?

 I did my best ;*)

meting out == ??? Am I ok ?

I couldn´t find this phrase :(   (....aportando, compartiendo, repartiendo...what ?!!..lol)

that this== ??? parece simple,,,no para mi :(

Hello guys!

thanks for your good comments. As I mentioned before, I'll be around with SpanishPod quite often, so I won't give a real chance to miss me. For the Sichuan dishes, I would have to learn how to do them on the traditional way. Maybe I should go to Sichuan and check it out. There are a lot of Sichuan restaurants in Shanghai though, and I really like their food, so tasty and also spicy!

Cherry,
Gracias por sus observaciones y el diálogo. Espero que me entere más sobre desgastante, en ingles el "to weather" does mean to wear down. It also means "to survive the storm" (physical or figurative and probably have scars to prove it) does "desgastante" also carry that sort of meaning or is it more of the wear down, show wear and tear sort of word.
 oye,,, I know I messed that up
mete - meter - measure - to hand out as needed appropriate amounts to meet the need.

that this? "que este" you did just fine.
A classic use is in Proclama de la guerra antiesclavista. como — that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom— se traduce como "que su"

Hi Cornelia –

Just to address your question, I wanted to confirm that there are no plans to change the SpanishPod schedule as it is now.

We are very sensitive to the importance of being totally open and honest at Praxis, and of not falling short of your expectations. Therefore, if there were to be any further changes at any point in the future, of any sort, we would always communicate this as soon as possible to our subscribers and do everything possible to provide satisfactory compensation where relevant.

Please do contact us directly if you'd like to discuss anything further - support@praxislanguage.com (you can always direct message me, too).

In terms of new subscriptions, we’d encourage anyone who’s contemplating buying a subscription to one of the Praxis websites to try out the 7-day trials and get a feel for the sites. They all provide hundreds of hugely engaging lessons, but each one is individual in style and format (Liliana is unique, we’ll all agree on that one, I'm sure!).

Hi Cobre & Donperigo -

I think you may be confusing me with Scarlett, who has just started here at Praxis and is from Salisbury (you may have heard her on EnglishPod recently?). There’s now two of us from England who work here.

… Should I warn Scarlett about the security of her home there? I didn’t realize SpanishPod users were dangerous! ;-)

Lo siento, DonPerigo (Sarah y Scarlet tambien), tengo más cera en los oidos que me he sospechado, y mucho más madera entre los dos. (pero que sí, en el lado positivo  no necesito ir muy lejos para tocar madera)
