Till now I felt beber is 'to drink'.

When do you use tomar (in context with 'to drink') and beber?

No me gusta que ahora en el diálogo las palabras inglesas están debajo de las palabras españolas.  Es muy difícil estudiar cuando veo las palabras inglesas justo debajo.  No estoy contento! También, a veces estudio la lección "intermediate". Pero, hay un salto muy grande entre el "Elementary" y "Intermediate". Qué piensan los demás?

As donperigo pointed out to me earlier, there's a little flower-shaped icon above the upper right-hand corner of this white discussion box.  Click on it and you can reset the default:  show or hide English in the dialogue and expansion sections.  Also, as Kikuyu says, you can override the default for individual items just by clicking the line below the Spanish to hide or reveal the translation.

Try it.  It turns out to be a really nice option.

hi, there is a contradiction in the text in the Expansion section of this lesson, as you can see below..The Spanish obviously says "I don't need your advice, and the English below it says "I need..."

En verdad, es un mito muy común que se necesita beber tanto agua.  Hay que beber suficiente agua para evitar deshidratacíon pero más no ayuda nada.

Una excepción es para impedir piedras de las rinoñes.

Éste yo sé - soy especialisto de los rinoñes.

Que quiero decir:

Actually, it is a very common myth that one needs to drink so much water.  One must drink enough to prevent dehydration but more doesn't help anything.

One exception is to prevent kidney stones.

Does a female speaker use 'necesito', too? Is there a rule for whether a feminine form exists?

“Necesitar” is a verb.  Verbs do  not change for gender.  The “o” at the end of “necesito” means that the person speaking is the one who is performing the action of needing something.  See the link.
