Tomo el metro cuando estoy enla ciudad. El metro en Filadelfia es también muy sucio. En Filadelfia llamamos el metro el subterráneo que también se conoce como el "El".
I take the metro when I am in the city. The metro in Philadelphia is also very dirty. In Philadelphia we call the metro the subway which is also known as the "El".
I am going to gander a guess as to why the metros are so dirty in the US, I think it is because they are not regulated by the federal government (with the exception of possibly the D.C. metro) which means that they are a for-profit organization and it does not profit them to spend money to keep it clean. I was also very surprised by the cleanliness of the Shanghai metro, I was expecting it to be something like Philadelaphia's but it was not.

Yo he tomado el Metro en Mexico. Acuerdo es muy limpio y muy rápido pero hay mucha mucha gentes. La "subway" en Nuevo York no es tan sucio que antes pero es muy vieja.
