En la cultura hispana, las palabras como flaco,flaca, gordo, gorda son usado para mostrar cariño. Taz vez Lily pueda explicar por qué, pero funciona así. Es simplemente una diferencia entre nuestras culturas.
Hola. Así es como lo menciona Rodney los latinos no somos tan sensibles en cuanto a los nombres que usamos. Podemos decirle a alguien "flaco", "gordo", "vieja", "viejo", "viejito" y no ofende si se dice con cariño. Como bien menciona Rodney en la cultura americana sobre todo, son muy conscientes en cuanto a los adjetivos que puedas usar, los latinos no hacemos tanta atención a eso. También usamos términos que se refieren al color "morena", "mi negra", "negrito", "güera", "güerita" entre otros y la gente no se ofende obviamente mientras sea con un tono sin ofensa.

The difficulties when learning spanish lies in the grammar, especially in the verb forms. It should be verbs, verbs, verbs, especially at the intermediate and the upperintermediate level, not teaching us words. And by no means elementary words like 'personal'.
I have signed up for the trial week, hoping this site could help me breaking out of my beginner spanish. But I see no reason to become a member, if the immediate and upperintermediate are of so little value.

It is a very simple way of saying "I have problems" or "I have personal issues".

It is a pity that you feel so disappointed and that no new lesson are to be published. There might still be more vocabulary and grammar items in other spanishpod lessons that are of adequate difficulty index to the levels they illustrate.
