Remember Me
Lesson Introduction

On this very special Del taco al tango, our Esti takes a Nancy Sinatra classic and gives it her own Spanish twist. She joins Lili and Catherine from ItalianPod to talk a little about the behind the scenes action and the video making process.

Well done all. otro triunfo

sadly for me the soundtrack is about 2 seconds behind the video which is a crying shame but it still looks  excellent, keep up the good work. What are you going to do with the dresses now?  I spotted the counting, but i thought you were being ironic :-) strange how we both published nancy sinatra translations this week.

jgrob guys in shirt dresses, thanks for that image, I didnt want breakfast anyway. :-p

Life on the beach, it's not the content, it's the packaging ladies.

Nice piece.

Boots, Sugar town, that takes me back.

It was Frank's education that even good writers, his name, and Mob financing couldn´t really make Nancy have talent.

Now Esti, hey, you go girl.

Dearest users,

I just found out that I am the only one in the office old enough to remember the Safety Dance, by Men Without Hats.  We may have to do that song, purely as an educational service to my co-workers, who are a bunch of damn whipper-snappers....

Yes JP! you have my total support, and I would suggest Leo as the lead singer with Catherine in the role of the sidekick!

By the way great job with "Las botas chamuscadoras", fantastic actors and great Davidico! I hope one day I will be able to enter a karaoke and find this.

I would call a whippersnapper a "mocoso impertinente". Mocoso means someone with mocos, which means a kid, "impertinente" means "presumptuous".

tseanr,

Normally I'm the last guy to say anything about missing accents, but "ano" = anus, so unless, you  really meant to ask JP that , you'll want to write "años".

¿Cuantos años tienes?

Rodneyp,

I appreciate the correction but allow me to return the favor. I did omit something but it was not an accent. It was a tilde.

Luckily I have never mispronounced año but I have said the dreaded, "tengo hombre." Keep up the attention to detail. We can all use it.

Hi everyone.  Here is my attempt to translate the song.  The lines in red are the ones that I don’t understand.  I would appreciate any input/corrections.

No dejas de decir que tienes algo para mi

You keep saying that you have something for me

Algo llamado amor pero confiesa ya

Something called love but confuse now

Estás en líos en los que no debes andar

You’re getting into things that you shouldn’t

Y ahora otra se lleva lo mejor de ti

And now another is getting your best

Las botas se hicieron pa’ caminar

This boots are made for walking

Se para lo que sirven

That’s what they’re for

Pero un día de estos caminaremos sobre ti

But one of these days we’re going to walk over you

Sigues mintiendo en vez de decir la verdad

You keep lying instead of telling the truth

Y sigues perdiendo cuando no debes ni apostar

And you keep losing when you shouldn’t be betting  ????

Sigues igual en lugar de cambiar

You stay the same instead of changing.

Lo cierto es cierto y tú no sabes lo que es

The truth is the truth and you don’t know what it is

Si sigues jugando con fuego, te chamuscarás

If you keep playing with fire you’re going to get burnt

Y encima piensas que chamuscado te ves bien

Above all you think that burned you are going to be fine   ????????????????

Pero ja cerillas acabo de encontrar

But ha, I just found some matches

Asi que cuidadito no te vayas a quemar

This way be carfule that you don’t get burned   ¿???????????????????????

Listas botas

Read boots
