I'm so sad that was the last lesson!

I know almost all of the lessons off-by-heart and will really miss hearing new content.

I keep hoping there will be a change of heart at Praxis and that production will continue but it looks like it's really happening!

Thanks to you all - staff past and present - for the invaluable, incomparable service you have provided.

Always hopeful of a return... soylinmar.

I love love love SpanishPod. I have told everyone I know and study spanish with about it. I'm so sad (and disappointed) in this direction. It's hard to find a system that makes you laugh AND learn.
Best of luck to all of you there. I feel like I have come to know you all as friends ... from just listening.
Great job.
BIG hugs.

Honestly, I rarely post here but these podcasts have been invaluable to me.  I listen to them at least once a day and have really enjoyed the variety provided across the entire spectrum of SpanishPod lessons.  I will sincerely miss the voices that I have come to look forward to listening to in the car, while exercising, taking a walk, etc.  I normally consider myself very expressive but I believe I'm at a loss for words.  I haven't had the time to fully process this yet, but I strongly hope that these lessons will continue in some format with the same folks despite the news here at SpanishPod.  I realize it's not the employees but, instead, the management that is moving on but I wish you all only the best.  Despite never having met, I will miss Marco and Liliana.  Thanks for all the laughs and great learning!  Good luck with all your projects moving on from here.  Hasta próximo.

Wow I just started with Spanishpod... in some ways I guess I am lucky to have the library of new podcasts to enjoy, but then it will come to an end!  Thanks for providing such a great service.  Good luck to you all -

Adiós SpanishPod team.  The acquisition of a second language is a gift and I have tremendously appreciated your creativity and enthusiasm in helping the SpanishPod learning community to "unwrap" Spanish.  Like so many others, I hope that that this move will be reversed, allowing us to enjoy new content once again.  You have been wonderful teachers and it is with hope that I say, Hasta Pronto...

Hola!

One thing I never completely understood is when you can use the construction "yo voy" (ir) vs "ir a" .

I know you can say things like "voy por el", "voy para casa", "voy para alla", but could you elaborate a little, as well as give me few other examples?

¡Muchisisisimas gracias!

Hi everyone at the spanishpod team!

I have only been using this site for a couple of months but it already feels like I know all of you very well, and I love the lessons, they are so great!

Although I still have a lot of lessons to study, I feel very sad that no new content will come.

Thank you for all your work!

Once again, thank you so much for all of your lessons.  I will probably continue to subscribe for a while because I have only just started learning Spanish and I will definitely have questions on your past podcasts.  Actually I have a question now that maybe you can answer.  I was listening to a song that has the lyric "Cada vez que te busco te vas", which was translated as "Every time I look for you you leave."  Why are they saying "te vas" instead of "tu vas" at the end?  I know this is a very basic question but I'm a newbie!  Thanks for any help.

te vas comes from the verb "irse" which is to leave.

This is similar to the verb "salir".

Ir is to go, but irse is to leave.

Me voy, te vas, se va, nos vamos, se van.

Thanks, hypersport!  I didn't know that verb yet, but I guess I should have been tipped off that it's reflexive from the "te".  So many things to learn...

I have now been a member of Spanishpod for almost a year and have enjoyed it very much, even though I have not been as active as I wanted to be. Spanishpod has been an inspiring experience and I want to thank the team for creating this unique environment, for their creativity in producing interesting lessons, and their courage in also addressing topics of everyday life that may seem difficult to talk about and are thus usually avoided in normal text books.

I am now up for renewal next week and the decision to do so is somewhat difficult in light of the changes to Spanishpod in April of this year. I appreciate the potential of continued access to your content, but in fact I would need this only intermittently for a month here and there if I wanted to make use of just that. A large part of the value of Spanishpod lies in the community posts and the ongoing interaction with the team (although, regretably, I myself had not yet really gotten off the ground in this respect). My impression is that the community activity is currently much reduced in comparison to before April. In particular, I want to ask what part of the team is still active?  (I seem not to see any new posts or activites by team members other than Lilliana -- which is not to say that you are not doing a great job, Lilliana).

Also I have noticed the (sudden?) apperance of what appear to be spam posts touting hotels and such. How did this come about? Can these be filtered out or removed?

Finally, when the changes were first announced it was also stated that work would be directed at restructuring and improving the existing content. This is an interesting idea. Some of the lessons might definitely be further improved or expanded on (which is not to say that they are not already delightful as they are). However, I have so far not seen anything on the site that points to any such activity. Is there a "roadmap" on what kind of improvements to expect when?

Hi

You are right I am the one in charge of the community and there is no much activity lately but we still have new users subscribing.

I understand if you might not want to renew your membership. The value is that you can contact me for any questions and still use the archive of lessons.

The changes about giving a more planned course are currently being put together but I still can not say when will the new platform be ready.

About the spammers. I have been deleting every spam. The problem is that they create new accounts automatically so I can only block them once they have posted. Out tech team is working in other solutions but by now I am doing it manually. I apologize for this.

I hope you stick around but I understand if you decide not to do so.
