EN/POR,EN suggests you´re right there in the place buying it, POR suggests more the way you´ve used to buy it (as Stevesterv said). Anyway, here some examples.

- Lo he comprado EN la tienda.

- Lo he comprado POR catálogo.

- Lo he comprado EN Internet or POR Internet.

So, let me say this new technology, Internet, is the one with I would say we can use both prepositions. I´ve heard many times native speakers using one or the other, so Kikuyu use whichever.

In some cases: yes, in others: no. Usually, "pues" means "well" and "entonces" means "then".
