Mis abuelos eran personajes. Mi abuelo materno es el hombre más guapo que he visto en mi vida. Además era simpático, bailador, tomador, le gustaba viajar, en fin!
Mi abuela materno era un AMOR!
My grandparents were all characters. My granfather from my mother's side was the most handsome man I have ever seen. He was also funny, liked to dance, like to drink and travel.
Mi grandmother, on my mom's side was such a sweetheart.
Casi no conocía a mis abuelos porque siempre vivíamos muy lejos de ellos. Me recuerdo que mi abuela cocinaba la comida en un fuego de carbón y que tenían un excusado exterior. yo era muy confusado, la ultima vez que vi a mi abuela porque siempre había sido una mujer grande asi que no reconocí la vieja más pequeña que mi mamá.
La abuela de mi amigo alaín vivía con ellos y criaba caracoles (para comida) en su habitación (era francés).
I barely knew my grandparents because we always lived far away from them. I remember my grandmother would cook the food on a coal fire and they had an outhouse. I was very confused the last time I saw my grandmother because she had always been a big woman so I did not recognize the lil old lady smaller than my mom.
The grandmother of my friend Alain lived with them and raised snails (for food) in her room (she was French).
Yo siempre viví con mi abuela materna,cuando joven era muy guapa ,alta ,de pelo negro y ojos azules como el cielo.Siempre me aconsejó que estudiara una carrera ya que ella no lo pudo hacer.Ahora tiene 84 años y sigue con la mente muy clara y dando muchas órdenes! ;)
En la sección de expansión, hay la frase "Durante mi juventud trabajé como mesero." Yo aprendí que esta frase es un ejemplo perfecto donde se usa el imperfecto en vez de el pretérito porque es una acción que continua. ¿Puede explicar porque usó el pretérito en esta frase? ¿Son los dos correctos?
Sí se pueden utilizar las dos,la explicación es muy simple.
Durante mi juventud trabajaba como mesero.(Aquí estás contando algo que hacías cuando joven ,algo habitual).
Durante mi juventud trabajé como mesero.(Aquí se refiere al trabajo que tenías en tu juventud,quizás solamente por un período de tiempo determinado)

Obvio, esta vieja trabaja múy fuerté a su salubridad. Creo que ella se tenga que guardar la salud, porque ella se tenga la enfermedad, diabetes. Ella ha perdido unas dedos de pie para la enfermedad.
