Bueno, Juan se fracturó la pierna, pobrecito. ¿Cómo le habrá pasado? ¿Qué hacía en aquel arbol? So Juan fractured his leg, poor guy. How do you suppose it happened? What was he doing in that tree?

Dice que estaba tratando de alcanzar el aguacate perfecto para hacer su guacamole especial. Para mí, estaba espiando a su novia cuando, de repente, ladró un perro, lo que le asustó y se cayó. He says he was trying to reach the perfect avocado so he could make his special guacamole. In my opinion, he was spying on his girlfriend when suddenly a dog barked, which scared him and he fell.

los sonidos de niños me dan a entender que juan es juanito y los chicos no necesitan motivos trepar los árboles. se cayó porque ha visto las olimpiadas y intentó a desmontar con un salto mortal y un media giro.

estoy confudido porque, los niños No serán siempre niños, a menos que los viven en el pais de nunca jamás.me parece que "siempre" cambia la sentido del dicho.
ademas, porque se necesita "siempre" con "ser?" si no sea siempre se debe usar estar? no?
Creo que "niños" es demasiado ambiguo y puede incluir niñas tambien. Chicos siempre serán chicos es verdadero (si los evitieran cirugía mayor.)
Yo lo habría traduscido asi: "chicos se portarán como chicos."
necesito incluir "siempre?" en este caso no cambiaría el sentido mucho porque no se habla de sus existencias.
I'm confused because children are not always children, unless they live in Neverland.
I feel that "always" changes the meaning of this saying.
I think "niños" is ambiguous as it can include girls.
boys will always be boys is true (if they avoid major surgery)
I would have translated it as
chicos se portarán como chicos.
boys will behave like boys.
Do I need to include "always?"
in this case it would not change the meaning much because we are not talking about their existence.

si dices "chicos se portarán como chicos" (o "niños serán niños"), se puede preguntar si no se portan como chicos ahora, ¿no? Con "siempre" el significado está más claro.
Y creo que la palabra "chicos" es tan ambigua como "niños".

Un punto interesante. En ingles también decimos boys will be boys, sé la razón que no decimos boys are boys. Quizás es porque queremos enfatizar que los niños nunca van a cambiar.

claro no siempre serán niños. children will not always BE children
Sin embargo "boys will always BE boys" tiene sentido porque casi cuaundo se hacen mayor, todavia estan de sexo masculino.
No me di cuenta que chicos podria significa "niños o jovenes en general. hay un termíno exclusivo? Hombritos? niños machos?

Estoy de acuerdo con tigo que, sin "siempre" no sabe si se portan asi ahora, pero el mismo ambigüedad existiría en Ingles.
me parece que "boys will be boys" no habla del futuro, porque es obvio que son "niños machos" ahora tambien, pero mas que es inevitible que niños (machos) se portan asi.
quizas se podria decir "muchachos, tienen que portarse como muchachos

it seems to me that "boys will be boys" is the jussive at work which is why the simple future seems the way to go but truth be told, the time frame is less important than conveying the sense of inevitabilty.

varones serán siempre varones
I agree with you that there is a sense of inevitablity but I think that the sence that it will never change is part of that. I think that Lili's comment was very interesting, that they include the word siempre in the expression in Spanish.

tienes razón que "boys will be boys" es ambiguo también pero en ingles es una frase hecha y por eso el significado es claro. Por otra parte no es una frase hecha en español y por eso hace falta "siempre". Por lo menos eso es mi explicación.
Con respecto a la posición de "siempre", una busca con google tiene esos resultados:
