They are not. Recaudar even though it comes from the Latin recapitāre which recoger. They are not the same thing when you use the word in context.

Reacuadar it means to "recieve", to "charge money", to "secure", to "have".

Recoger is to pick up, to grab something from the floor.

For example you can say.

"Voy a recaudar dinero". Here the meaning is that you will get it from different people, in different ways.

"Voy a recoger dinero". It means u will pick the money up, maybe your salary at the office.

Let me know if this answers your question.

Question of the day:

Have you ever organized or participated in a fundraiser?

Alguna vez han organizado o participado en una recaudación de fondos?

Una vez participé en una recaudación de fondos.  Las donaciones las usamos para hacer canastas de comida para dar a las familias de la comunidad el día de acción de gracias.

Hi Guys

In the second paragraph, it says "...buscar patrocinios". The text says ".....and look for sponsors".

Doesn't "patrocionios" mean sponsorships, and "patrocinadores" mean sponsors ?

We have.... "Es buena idea". I have heard many people using that phrase.

As a native english speaker, I would have thought it would be "Es una buena idea" Can you shed any light on this ?
