Elementary - Fancy dress

The question of the day is:

¿Cuándo vas a fiestas reconoces a todos? ¿O por lo general siempre es la misma gente?

When you go to a party do you recognize everyone? Or is usually the same people?

Por lo general a las fiestas que voy, reconozco a unas 5 personas, pero de ahí en fuera muchos son personas nuevas. En Shanghai la gente siempre viene y se va, no hay mucha gente permanente.

Usually the parties that I go to, I recognize maybe 5 people, but there is always new people. In Shanghai people come and go, there is no permanence, just a few people, which is the same group.

Antes que nada voy a contestar la pregunta del día: Usualmente reconozco a la mayoría de la gente a las fiestas aunque siempre hay unas personas nuevas en la comunidad universitaria.  First of all, I'll answer the question of the day:  I usually recognize most of the people at parties although there are usually some new people in the university community.

Me encanta como han logrado a enseñar el uso de también/tampoco aquí.  No es nada fácil explicarlo pero se me hace que lo han hecho con much éxito.  I love the way you have managed to teach the use of también/tampoco here.  It's not easy to easy it but it seems to me that you've done it quite successfully!

Interesante, sueco tiene dos respuestas similares, tanto a decir que sí.

Gracias por todos tus comentarios,nos alegra mucho que te haya gustado la forma que hemos encontrado para lograr enseñar el uso de también y tampoco.

Una pequeña observación ,delante de enseñar no va la ¨a¨,no sé si fue realmente un error o quizá fue que hiciste typo,ya que tu español es excelente.

Sobre "también" y "tampoco", ¿es corecto que se usa "también" cuando la oración es de la forma positiva gramáticamente, aunque el significado semántico es negativo?  ¿Y lo contrario por "tampoco"?

¿Las oraciones siguentes son corectas?:

1) Odio el apio.  Yo también.

2) Estoy raro porque no odio planchar.  Yo tampoco.

Ambas oraciones son correctas. También puedes usar TAMBIÉN en oraciones negativas.

generalemente no voy a fiestas con mucha gente.  En la mayoria conozco casi todas las personas pero me gusta mucho cuando encuento una persona que no conozco y hago un amigo nuevo.

Mi marido y yo recientemente asistimos a la boda de mi cuñado y éramos la parte de la mesa nupcial. Antes de sentar para la cena, estuvimos de pie en la línea delante de nuestra mesa mientras cada invitado nos se presentó. Aunque supiéramos cada uno del lado de mi marido de la familia, sólo sabíamos unos cuantos de la familia de la novia. También no conocíamos a todos los amigos de mi cuñado. Había tantas nuevas caras no podíamos recordar a todos ellos.

My husband and I recently attended my brother-in-law’s wedding and we were part of the bridal table. Before sitting down for supper, we stood in line in front of our table while every guest presented themselves to us. Though we knew everybody from my husband’s side of the family, we only knew a few from the bride’s family.  As well we did not know all of my brother-in-law’s friends.  There were so many new faces we could not remember them all.

Por ejemplo:

Estos libros son míos, de ahí en fuera todo es tuyo.

Estas son mis responsabilidades, de ahí en fuera lo que queda es responsabilidad tuya.

I have some word documents in which I cut and paste explanations like the one above which you have just given.

I do this because even though this stands out very clearly now that you have explained it, in a week I will have forgotten it !!

Each week I review all the grammatical notes from the various lesson areas. It forms a good "review tool".

What you can also do is to put a "heading" above each cut and paste section. Use very large capital letters in bold. That way it stands out very clearly. There's nothing worse than trying to find something when the font is very small.

What I also do is to repeat a phrase like "de ahí en fuera " in my head all day long. One phrase a day. If you do that every day, you will have learned 365 phrases in a year. I find it is best to learn one thing really well each day and then move on to the next. If you try to learn too much at once, your brain can overload. I repeat the phrases [ or grammar notes ] out loud in the shower !! It works !!

There's a really good little Spanish phrase book called "Spanish Idioms". Costs about 9 dollars. You can fit it in your pocket. [ Barron's Publishing - Eugene Savaiano ]. Contains loads of phrases and Idioms.

Usamos tambien y tampoco, no lo se si es correcto

A: tenemos clases hoy? hace mal tiempo, esta lloviendo aqui en Laguna,
B: no se, aqui tambien en Manila lloviendo
A: no puedo pasar las calles, hay alta "flood"
B: a mi, tampoco no puedo, hay tambien "flood" aqui

En lo del uso de también/tampoco, casi todo parece correcto. 

A: tenemos clases hoy? hace mal tiempo, está lloviendo aquí en Laguna,

B: Ni yo a mi, tampoco (no puedo)*, hay también "flood" aquí
