Remember Me
Lesson Introduction

Today's recipe is chilaquiles en salsa roja, the Mexican answer for when you wake up in the morning after a night of too many frozen margaritas. This recipe builds on two of Chef Tabasco's other recipes, totopos (tortilla chips) and salsa roja (red sauce). Listen carefully for the target word, which means "to shred."

Leo y Lili,

Gracias Abuelo Jack

Thanks, abuelojack, I'll look into that.

btw, I made these chilaquiles this morning, and they turned out awesome.  This recipe is idiot proof.  Great with a couple of fried eggs on top...

For some reason, I can't download this lesson to my ipod (no problems with previous Tabasco lessons).  Anyone else having this problem?

Yes!  I couldn't download the last La Clave (simple future) either.   I can still download to iTunes, but it comes up with an error message that it can't be downloaded to the iPod.  Previously it always worked fine.

Leo and I are on the case now.

Marti, I had chilaquiles again this morning; that's two days in a row now!

UPDATE: the expansion section is fixed, and I'm thinking about going home and having more chilaquiles for lunch...

Hola Rodneyp,

The expresion is "en un dos por tres" which means "to do something very fast".

Examples:

I ate the tacos very fast

A little question to the people having trouble to download the video to the iPod. Are you using an iPod or is it an iPhone?

Also, if you are using the personal RSS feed, make sure that you have selected mp4 format if you are using an iPod an a m4v format if you an iPhone.

Hi Leo,

I am using an iPod and the mp4 format is selected.  I can view it direct from iTunes, but when I synch with my iPod the error message says that the video format is not supported by my iPod.  It's weird because I've never had a problem before, and I haven't made any changes.

Hi Leo

I'm having the same trouble. I'm using an iPod and I have mp4 format selected. It's only the last two videos. I've just loaded some others now and they work perfect.

The error I get on iTunes is "Video was not transfered because the video format is not supported by the iPod.

I don't know if this means anything but looking at the file info in iTunes the "video codec" for the good videos says MPG-4, but for the last two this is H.264. It's the only difference I see.

Hope this doesn't confuse you more

Gracias por explicarme "dos por tres" Leo!

And something does seem to have changed with the video format.  While I don't have an iPod or iPhone, my phone does play mp4's in the same format as the iPod/phone.

In the past I've simply been able to copy the videos directly to my phone and play them with no problem.  The last two or three I've copied to my phone don't play properly.  I get sound, but no video.  I actually have to convert the files first before they'll play on my phone.  Although on my PC they play just fine.

Hi Leo,

I have an ipod too, have mp4 format selected, and can download to itunes without difficulty.  When I sync, I get an error message telling me the video can't be transferred to my ipod.

Like rachaelt and toucan, I haven't made any changes.

Thanks for checking this out, guys.

Hey all!

We found out what the problem was. Special thanks to toucan for the specific information about the video codec.

The problem has been solved. You can download the file again and it should work fine now.

Thanks for your patience!

Pa' que sepas...

Hmmmm, why does Lili's hair start out short and reddish-brownish at the beginning of the video but by the end, when it's time to eat chilaquiles, her hair has magically grown longer (although tied up) and is somewhat more brownish-blackish?

I sometimes wear my hair up, but in this case, we made the video when I had long hair, now I cut it, so the beginning of the show was filmed after I cut my hair.

Thanks for noticing!Hope u like the new hairstyle!

Saludos

"a veces hay que cambiar de look!"

Is it common to use "look" in that context in Spanish?  I was surprised to see that.

What Spanish word would you use in place of look to say the same thing?
