Lesson Introduction
Take your eyes off the road for a second, and suddenly your day is ruined, not to mention your paint job... In today's lesson, we have front row seats to a classic rear-ending, and you're there when drivers get out and yell at each other. Yikes, hope they have insurance!

Anna8, Algunas correcciones:
¡No LO puedo creer! ¿Cómo TE atreviste A perseguir a un desconocido? ¡A huevo, chica!
hi
In this dialog one of the speakers says “¡Pero es que no vio que frené! ¿Estaba en la luna o qué? I do not under stand where the “Pero es que” comes from, can someone please explain it to me?
Thank you very much
Steve
stevestrv,
The "pero es que..." is just some verbal filler that wouldn't be translated into an equivalent situation in English. "But is it that you didn't you see that I braked?"
Nothing to worry about! :)
JP
Thank you. It is knowing how to uses this kind of word along with the prepositions that I find the most difficult part of Spanish. Even harder then the subjective.
Steve
Steve,
I know what you mean about the prepositions; those just have to be memorized... or more likely, learned by years of trial and error. Luckily preposition mistakes rarely result in a comprehension crisis.
As for the verbal flotsam, that actually something you pick up pretty qucikly through exposure. Esti and I, for example, have been picking up Mexicanisms since we sit across from Leo and Lili all day long.
