Hello, aspiring language learners!

Question of the day:

¿Sueles llamar al extranjero?  Do you often call abroad?

Yo nunca llamo al extranjero; cuesta mucho.  Prefiero mandar email o llamar por Skype.  I never call overseas, it costs too much.  I'd rather fire off an email, or Skype someone.

No me gusta llamadas internacionales, pero alguno veces tengo que hacerlo, porque mi papa trabaja extranjero, y me siento culpable si no le llamo.

I dont like international calls, but sometimes I have to do it because my dad works abroad and I feel guilty if I do not call him.

Sometimes I call abroad, because my parents can't use Skype. I prefer email ...

(... but for what it's worth my parents can't use a computer either ...!)

Also, thanks for the phrase ´A ti qué te importa´ ... always useful to know a couple of snarky phrases in another language. Gracias SpanishPod team!

Is there a difference between oprimar y marcar when talking about dialing a telephone number or pushing a button?

Hay diferencia entre "oprimar" y " marcar" cuando hable de oprimar/marcar un numero de telefono o oprimar/marcar un boton?

Gracias,

AY

How would you say this in the formal form? ¿A ti qué te importa? ¿A usted qué le importa? or ¿A usted qué lo importa? I realize this may be a strange thing to say in the formal form, but I often have problems with le and lo in this type of usage so I figured I'd ask.

Hola erecu, I believe ' ¿A usted qué le importa? ' would be the correct phrase.

If the phrase" a ti que importa" is too imposing can we use "porque te importa" to satisfy our curiosity without offending?

"Por qué te importa" is less imposing.  But it also depends on your tone of voice.

BTW

Porque - becouse

Por qué - why
