Hola,

In the expression...por la libre (freely/over-the-counter)...does the 'la' refer to an omitted/understood 'venta'?

Gracias por tu respuesta

This summer I went to Mexico and Guatemala, into the jungle, as well, and in Tulum I was searching in vain for some medicine against malaria. At first nobody understood me, later I was told I shoud go to the doctor first. I was lucky and I returned home without catching any disease, not even  problems with indigestion. Good for you.

I have been many times to Tulum and the jungle in Mexico. Also in Chiapas and not once I thought of getting medicine for malaria jejeje. Glad to hear you had no problems.

Hola SpanishPod,

When I was in Ecuador, I spent one night in a Hacienda, cowboy style (Habitación Machai), right under the thatched roof following a nice evening next to a smoking fireplace. My nose just shut off. Muy constipado!

The following day, I went to a pharmacy in Pujilí, and I was happy to be able to buy a prescription strength anti-histamine without a prescription! They just asked me how many pills I wanted. It was comparatively expensive. Look on the picture at the cashier: those eyes didn't miss a thing!
