Historia verdadera (y quizás un poco trágica) sobre el chipirón: Cuando yo era niño, mi padre era biólogo (todavía es). Y por razones que todavía no entiendo, mis amigos creyeron que él investigaba los chipirones. (No lo hizo.) Y por eso, por muchos años mis amigos me llamaron chipirón (o lil' squid en inglés---mi hermano mayor era big squid).
(Y no puedo creer que ya se lo he dicho a todo el mundo....)
¡Pero quién sabía que de hecho es un término de cariño en España (o por lo menos en la mente de Esti)!

Here's what I see happening. After the crash, they stumble out of the car to find that the other car they hit was driven by a priest. They're so upset and disoriented that they ask him to hear their confession and then marry them on the spot. Then they agree to drive to the police station and turn in the money. All of this happens with the pink bunny ears still on.

Pattyayers, En inglés decimos "sh..oot" en vez de decir algo que no podría ser aceptable. En español se dice "mier..coles" en vez de decir algo más.
In English we say "shoot" instead of saying something that might not be acceptable. In Spanish they say "miercoles" instead of saying something else.

Creo que es muy realista y por eso falta un poco una historia y sentido. I think it is very realistic and therefore it lacks a bit of a story and meaning.
A mí me interesaba porque era demasiado joven para entender todo eso cuando ocurrió. Entonces es un poco como una lección de historia moderna de Alemania para mí. :) I was interested in it because I was too young to understand all this when it happened. Therefore it is a bit like a lesson in modern history of Germany for me.

kikuyu: Definitivamente no vale la pena ver la pelicula por esas escenas, son bastante cortas y del ángulo de turistas. It's definitely not worth watching the movie because of these scenes, they are quite short and from the point of view of tourists.

I especially try not to read the posts in Spanish here, because I tend to remember what I read, and I think I'd pick up a lot of mistakes!! No offense to anybody - it just doesn't seem like a good idea!

Tengo una pregunta. En el ultimo del dialogo, el hombre dijo, "Sabia que yo deberia haber manejado." Porque el no dijo, "Sabia que yo DEBIA haber manejado."???? Deberia es en el condicional, pero pense que la palabra debe ser en el imperfecto (debia). O si "sabia que" es un marcador del subjunctivo, debe decir "DEBIERA haber manejado", verdad?

Deberías hacerlo. You should do it.

The subjunctive form debiera is different. He visto esta forma usada más cuando el verbo deber se trata de "to owe".
