Very good lesson. There were a lot of useful grammer points for such a short dialogue.

¿Cuál es la diferencia entre Vienes al doctor y Vas al doctor?

Buena pregunta, cloudybrook!

Vienes comes from the verb VENIR, meaning to come.

Vas comes from the verb IR, meaning to go.

The difference can sometimes get a little tricky in Spanish, as we use the verbs just a little bit differently than in English, but for this situation, the person saying "¿Vienes al doctor?" is either at the doctor´s office or on his way there, whereas the person saying "¿Vas al doctor?" is not going to the doctor´s office himself.

La pregunta del día: ¿Conoces a tus vecinos?

Question of the day: Do you know your neighbors?

People in Latin American countries tend to be very friendly with their neighbors and know them quite well. Is this different from your situation?

Tenemos un vecino muy amigable que tiene un perro precioso.  Se lo cuidamos cuando está de viaje y él nos ayuda a quitar la nieve de la banqueta. Es un intercambio justo :)

We have a very friendly neighbor who has a lovely dog.  We take care of it for him when he's traveling and he helps us clear the snow from our sidewalk.  It's a fair exchange :)
