¡Hola todos!
I depend on my friends' recommendations every day: where to eat, what to do, etc. Here's the question of the day:
¿Quién te da siempre un buen consejo para saber dónde ir a comer? Who always gives you good advice in terms of where to go to eat?
I depend on the recommendations of Liliana, she knows it all!
Dios mío, the english is getting more obscure than the spanish in shanghai
Of course we say "help me to pick one". at least we do this side of the pond. help me pick one sounds soooooo american (eeuu) :-)
help me choose is ok (ish) but if you put a "one" after the verb you need a" to " before it i.e. help me to choose one or to choose between them
and whilst im being free with my opinion..:-)
lilliana
"i recommend you to go to" is perfectly understandable but may i suggest a small correction namely "I recommend that you go to.."
the death of the subjunctive in english has been greatly exagerated ;-)
(y'all knows i's jus funnin wi'cha right?)
I depend on my co-workers because they also like really spicy food.
I recommend this web site if you are interested in learning spanish.
Hola,
Is there a difference in usage for elegir and escoger for to choose? Or are they interchangable?
Also, I think that there are a few errors on the expansion page.
Ai no,(hehe)
I'm already confused enough, now you torture me by switching the english translations around on the expansion page phrases. LOL.
Great lesson,(except I hate anything with an r in it, I can't pronounce it correctly). I get recommendations about the best Mexican Food in town from my Mexican Co-Workers. Of course I'm terribly spoiled since they bring food into work all the time and it's much better that anything from a restaurant.
llarrywa, sorry about the confusion, I have fixed the translation mismatch; please reload the expansion page :)
Part of the difficulty of daily publishing is that errors like that sometimes escape us. If you see such an error, please do not hesitate to contact us, and I'll correct it right away!
Gracias JP
That was quick. It is understandable with the amount of content you post. I don't know how I'll ever get to all of it but I'll have fun trying.
rodneyp, ¿qué? is a general "what" question; ¿cuál? is more like "which one." Hope that helps :)
Hi everyone,
Here's another question I hope someone here can help me clear up...
In this lesson, you used "Ayudame" to mean "help me", but in a previous lesson, you have used "Pasarme" to mean "pass me"...
So shouldn't Ayudame be Ayudarme?
OR
Shouldn't pasarme be pasame?
Thanks in advance!
aclchan,
you can say:
puedes ayudarme (using ayudar in the infinitive form because it is preceded by poder)
ayudame por favor (imperative familiar form)
ayudeme por favor (imperative usted form)
or
le importa pasarme la sal
pásame la sal por favor (imperative familiar)
páseme la sal por favor (imperative usted)
Hope this helps.
feliz navidad a todoa!!!
Hola khin,
I think it would be better to say: "me gustaría recomendarles una comida muy picante"
Hola Kikuku,
Such a usefull lesson, pick a seat in a resturant, pick the food, pick a service, computer, flight, perfume, wow it is not ending (need to modify the answer a bit but still around the theme). Just wondering the dialogue should go A and B it shows as ABAB even though it is split into 2 lines only, just a non important point as I liked the lesson a lot.
JP you seem to have the same habit as me, I eat whatever is available (if you can eat it, I finish it).
minor corrections to PDF

elegir contra escoger - ¿hay una diferencia?
Suggestion: I think many of us would prefer fewer podcasts, and to spend more time on the supplimentary material (exercises). A podcast every day is pretty agressive, and I think you could slow down abit, and increase quality.
cdowis
Before we offered a podcast a day. No we only have three a week plus the extra shows.
I think you are right, we have been developing our exercises, this year we might do some changes to improve the site.
Thanks for your suggestion.
