I don't think that JP can be persuaded to stay. He sounds very eager to move on.

I'm pretty sure, though, that Praxis Language will find a suitable replacement, if that's their intention. After all, they did find JP in the first place. And from what I've been reading, the hosts of the other Praxis Podcasts are(were) equally as popular.

Having said that. I'm not considering a long-term subscription until I've heard the replacement and seen how the whole Project X / schedule reduction mess is going to be sorted out.

You always seem to reference traditional cardboard flashcards, but have you checked out some of the more powerful electronic flashcard tools? You can set them up any which way you want them to. From quizzing sentences to fill-in-the-gap type exercises. They also give you the ability to add multimedia to the text, some of them even have thousands of words prerecorded. I was planning on feeding my application with voice samples from SpanishPod to help with pronunciation and example sentences to get context.

In the 10th grade we started using a "Learner's dictionary" that was monolingual, much like the example anna8 posted about the Spanish/Spanish diccionario. Wow, how I wished we could have used that sooner. It makes so much more sense. Mind you, it's very frustrating at first. Sometimes you had to look up two additional words to find out what the word meant, you were looking up in the first place. But you get used to picking up words like that on the fly. And that's a great way to learn new words. So I definitely recommend getting a Spanish/Spanish dictionary.

Thanks. I get it, but I guess my thought process is more complicated. :) recibo (receipt) in my experience is a piece of paper she gets to keep, so she probably had to sign somewhere else instead. That's why I did not link the gender of listo to the gender of recibo.

I'm at the very beginning of my journey, so I've only ever listened to Newbie lessons, but I'm already considering myself a fan. I have sampled numerous audio products both traditional and online and none of the hosts or teachers or whatever you want to call them are as engaging, funny and entertaining as Liliana and JP. You guys are a huge HUGE motivation for me to continue with my studies, because I have so much lessons with you to look forward to. Let me rephrase that. Right now you are my #1 motivation. There I said it. And in so many words when I only needed three: You guys rock.
