New Gabo Hoax: Carta a Bush de Gabriel García Márquez Ah, the joys of the Internet! It seems that Garbo is the "victim" of yet another fake letter, this one slightly more nasty than La marioneta! Called in Spanish "Carta a Bush de Gabriel García Márquez," or "Gabriel García Márquez’ Letter to Bush," the open letter is a post 9-11 diatribe about the United States. The letter was not written by Gabo, who repudiated it in the newspaper La Jornada, calling it a piece of bad writing ("mal escrito").
I must confess, I am rather puzzled that anyone could possibly think that Gabo could write such a letter, which goes well beyond good taste and reason to express anger at American imperialism. More distressing to me, however, is that many versions of the letter circulating the Internet have "borrowed" my introduction to this very site, Macondo, as an introduction to the letter! Eek, I say, Eeek. I have nothing to do with this letter either!

Al menos, me da gusto saber que vas a leer sus libros. Son excelentes, pero te recomiendo diccionario en mano, porque hay mucho vocabulario nuevo. Gabo es un maestro!

By the way, how do I edit a new post?  I wanted to fix a couple mistakes, but I couldn't find an edit button?

Ve del pie izquierda de alguna pagina y haz click la enlace "posts". Ve columno al derecho y haz click el pequeno lapiz al lado del titulo de tu puesta, correge y publicar. Esta procedimento, se soló haría, por el primero puesto al hilo que tu mismo encendiste.

Go to the bottom left of any page and click on the link "posts" Look at the right column and click on the little pencil next to the title of the post, edit, and publish. This only works for the first post in a thread that you started yourself.

(if you want to delete it completely, click on the save as draft button instead of publish.  That will remove it from view. If you go back to your POSTS page it will have a little trash can next to the little pencil, click the can and it's gone. Click the pencil and you can go back and edit some more and publish if you wish.)

 Me la pasaba muy bien en leerlo, pero tengo que decir que el fin me decepcionó.  Es como que esperaba que algo más hubiera sucedido, pero nunca pasó.

Los dos están buenazos y se los recomiendo!  Aunque les advierto que el segundo es un poco gráfico con respecto a los asesinos....
