Groups - entre ladrones
I discovered the other day that some playstation 3 games have fully voiced spanish versions on the same disc and so reset the system to spanish and booted up uncharted 2 "Among Thieves" only to discover that it was called "el reino de los ladrones" which is a bit misleading because, if anything, the game is set in "el reino de los Yeti" and labelling tibetans "ladrones" seems a bit harsh.
i assumed that the english title comes from the expression that "there is honour among thieves" and that this expression didnt have a spanish equivalent but a quick bit of googling revealed that said expression crops up in don quixote.
however, one citation does not a common spanish expression make so perhaps "Honor entre ladrones" wouldnt mean anthing to the average spanish speaking videogamer. Well, apparently there already is a videogame entitled honour among thieves and the spanish language version is indeed called "honor entre ladrones" as is the translation of the jeffry archer novel and several other books.
however, opinion seems to be very divided on the question
¿hay honor entre ladrones o no?
in the Group Dichos .
