Busco la palabra "brace".  un aparatus ortopedico? Ferrules? (would you use this for a plastic leg brace or would this be incorrect?) Gracias.

seems to favour "aparato ortopédico" with "férule" as a more temporary splint. knee brace comes out as "rodillera ortopédico" and this looks like what i think of as a leg brace. i looked for caliper as well but it seems to not have the same meaning in spanish
