For those of you interested in expanding your Medical Spanish vocabulary, I have a Twitter of Facebook Page where I post daily vocabulary words and phrases. The Facebook page is interactive, and challenges you to come up with your own medical phrases and words in Spanish.

Busco la palabra "brace". un aparatus ortopedico? Ferrules? (would you use this for a plastic leg brace or would this be incorrect?) Gracias.

seems to favour "aparato ortopédico" with "férule" as a more temporary splint. knee brace comes out as "rodillera ortopédico" and this looks like what i think of as a leg brace. i looked for caliper as well but it seems to not have the same meaning in spanish
